The Red Sox’ last day in Ft. Myers proved to be an interesting one Wednesday, when players threatened to boycott not only their Grapefruit League finale against the Blue Jays but also the four games in Japan unless the club’s coaches and medical staff received a stipend—believed to be at least $40,000—for traveling to Tokyo.
