Notes

-Stephen Fife had his best start of the year, tossing 7 shutout innings on the way to his 3rd win. That's 13 straight innings without allowing a run for Stephen. SVS hit his 3rd HR in 2 days. Jeff Baisley 4 for 4 with 9 total bases, missing the cycle by a triple.

-Ethan Martin also had a very strong start, allowing a run in the first but nothing more through the next 6. After posting a 15:10 walk to strikeout ratio in his first three starts, he's reversed course, compiling a 5:22 mark in his last three. He also lowered his ERA to 3.12 on the year and, in spite of a fairly extreme flyball rate, has yet to allow a home run. Righties are also finding it difficult to get hits off of him, as they're batting just .094 against him. On offense, Luis Nunez went 4 for 5 with a pair of doubles, while Jake Lemmerman had a pair of hits and is batting .441 (15 for 34) in his last 10 games.

-Garrett Gould was cruising through 4 innings but ran into trouble in the 5th, allowing a high (or low) 5. Freddie Cabrera entered with 2 outs to strand Gould's inherited runner. A disappointing outing from Garrett after his brilliant 12 K outing a week ago. Luckily, the offense decided to pick up the slack and provided some relief for their pitchers. After scoring 2 in the 4th on an Austin Gallagher homer, C.J. Retherford added a run by way of his first home run of the season in the 5th and the team added 3 more in the 6th. All three runs came on one play, where Brian Cavazos-Galvez's double plated Scott Wingo and Joc Pederson, while a throwing error from the shortstop allowed BCG to score. Mike Pericht added an insurance run in the 7th on a solo shot after hitting 2 longballs yesterday.

-O'Koyea Dickson made his season debut with a bang, blasting a two run, opposite field home run in the 5th inning that would eventually decide the game. The offense was provided by the bottom of the order, as the 1-4 hitters combined to go 2 for 17 while the 5-9 hitters went 11 for 19. Jan Vazquez had 3 hits, including his second double, to push his batting average up to .390.
