Doug Fister gave up two hits over four scoreless innings in his first rehab start with the Mud Hens. Fister threw 68 pitches, 44 for strikes, walking one and striking out five. He told reporters afterward that he felt good. It is yet to be seen if Fister will make another start with the Hens. He has been on the DL since early April with an abdominal strain. Ryan Strieby led Toledo at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a two-run homer. Justin Henry went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Kelvin De La Cruz struggled right off the start, giving up six earned runs over 1 1/3 innings to pick up the loss. The relief wasn’t much better, as the Erie pitchers were pounded all night. Zach Samuels gave up three earned runs over two innings, and Michael Morrison gave up two over 2 1/3 innings. Down 11-3 in the seventh, Erie scored five runs to cut the deficit to three, but couldn’t do anything else. Rob Brantly and Tony Plagman each went 2-for-4 with a solo home run.

Tyler White gave up a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth, recording the loss. Nick Castellanos went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored. Marcus Lemon went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Alex Burgos got the start, giving up one earned run in 2 2/3 innings. Luis Sanz gave up three runs (two earned) in 4 1/3 innings of relief.

Wilsen Palacios gave up four earned runs over six innings, but picked up his firs win of the season. Patrick Leyland went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Danry Vasquez went 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Melvin Mercedes gave up one hit over three innings to pick up the save.
