At second base, Brandon Inge went 0-for-3, playing seven innings before being substituted for, as planned. Ryan Strieby went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Recently called up, Rob Waite threw three scoreless innings out of the bullpen, giving up just one hit.

Alex Burgos pitched well, giving up two earned runs over six innings, but the offense didn’t come around and the bullpen couldn’t keep it close, as Burgos earned the loss. Nick Castellanos was back in the lineup after leaving Wednesday’s game early and went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts. Daniel Fields went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and an RBI.

Recently called-up Warwick Saupold came in and gave up three earned runs in just 1 1/3 innings. Eugenio Suarez went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored and Jason Krizan went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and three RBIs.
